The doctor said that the surgery went well this morning. He said that he drained the fluid to relieve the pressure on the right side. I misspoke yesterday. The subdural is where it was located. He placed two more exterior drains at the location. Mother is doing well. I will post more tomorrow.

Keith,
I just wanted you to know that a shunt is no big deal. It sounds scary since once you put it in it is pretty much there forever.
I had a brain aneurysm that ruptured--a subachronoid hemmorage.
The doctors saved my life and I had to have a shunt. That was two years ago. I don't even think about my shunt until I wash my hair. It doesn't show. It doesn't hurt and it does it's job.
Just wanted to let you know from someone who has sorta been where your mom is right now.
I pray for Sue's recovery.
